Μετά το ζευγάρωμα η βασίλισσα επιστρέφει στην κυψέλη.
Γεννά έως το τέλος της ζωής χωρίς να να ζευγαρώσει ποτέ ξανά .Οι φύλακες εργάτριες επιτρέπουν στη βασίλισσα να περάσει μόνο στην περίπτωση που έχει γονιμοποιηθεί.
Δεν αφήνουν όμως τους κηφήνες να περάσουν.
Μετά το γαμήλιο ταξίδι, οι κηφήνες είναι καταδικασμένοι σε θάνατο.^^
